QSNCC Wins M&C Asia Stella Awards 2023 Convention Center with “Best Sustainability Initiative”
The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) creates another high profile for the Thai MICE industry when the property is selected to win M&C Asia Stella Awards 2023 for convention center with Best Sustainability Initiative.
M&C Asia Stella Awards is an annual accolade presented by M&C Asia, MICE and travel media which is of high profile among MICE professionals. The recipients are organizations showing innovation and best practices that significantly contribute to the development and progress of the MICE industry across Asia. With 29 awards across six categories, finalists for each category are determined by industry professionals during open voting period. M&C Asia Stella Awards 2023 winner is selected by majority votes from fellow meeting planners.

With clear sustainable practices, QSNCC will soon earn LEED-NCv4 Silver Certification. LEED is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design which is administered by U.S. Green Building Council: USGBC. In this respect, QSNCC will be the first convention center of Thailand to earn such certification, according to QSNCC.
Key features of sustainability initiative of QSNCC are sustainable architecture, consisting of reduced use of electricity, accessibility via multiple modes of transport and connecting with green area, energy efficiency management, eco-friendly disposal of waste, local sourcing, and sustainable meeting package.
The venue is ready to deliver services that make sustainable events for clients and put the Thai MICE industry and Thailand on a global map of sustainability. This is to affirm the venue’s determination to contribute not only to the industry itself, but also to the community and society. However, the venue is well aware that challenges remain on a sustainable path. The award will drive QSNCC further towards the betterment of sustainability. In this connection ,QSNCC would like to call for insights, inputs and collaboration of industry professionals in making MICE industry a powerful player in sustainability. Prior M&C Asia Stella Awards 2023, the venue has been ISO 2012:2012 certified for sustainability management system. The award has demonstrated QSNCC’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and will be a platform for the venue to better and refine its sustainable initiatives to meet the shift of business landscapes.
