QSNCC Empowers Active Lifestyles with New Sports Hall to Boost Community Health
The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), in collaboration with Thai Beverage Public Company Limited (ThaiBev) and The PARQ, has officially handed over a new international-standard sports hall, located in the heart of Benjakitti Park, to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. Designed to promote fitness and enhance the quality of life for Bangkok residents, this facility focuses on three core activities: yoga, volleyball, and spin biking. Equipped with cutting-edge equipment, this initiative aims to inspire Bangkokians to stay active, contributing to their personal well-being and fostering a healthier, more vibrant community.
Mr. Surapol Utintu, Chief Executive Officer, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, stated, "The renovation of Sports Hall 3 at Benchakitti Sports Center, now equipped with 50 spin bikes and modern facilities for yoga, volleyball, and spin biking, reflects the commitment of QSNCC, ThaiBev, and The PARQ to promoting a healthier society. We are providing Bangkok residents with more opportunities to engage in diverse activities in public spaces. Moreover, supporting sports is vital for enhancing individual capabilities, which is essential for sustainable social development."
Flight Sergeant First Class (FS1) Nattapong Kesapan, Secretary General of the Thailand Volleyball Association, added, "Under the leadership of our president, Mr. Somporn Chaibangyang, the Thailand Volleyball Association provided crucial guidance on the development of Sports Hall 3, including recommendations on the court dimensions, equipment, and appropriate flooring to minimize injuries. Reflecting on my own experience, I didn’t have the privilege of playing on a standard court during my youth; we had to improvise with makeshift posts and nets. However, my passion for volleyball fueled my journey to joining the national team. Now, thanks to the collective efforts of all involved, we have a high-quality court that offers comprehensive training opportunities for essential volleyball skills. I am confident that this facility will greatly enhance the abilities of our young athletes, fostering their growth and development in the sport."
Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, commented on the handover of the sports hall, stating, "The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is committed to continuously enhancing public health. The Benchakitti Sports Center exemplifies this commitment by offering a diverse range of sports, including basketball, pickleball, badminton, and futsal. During the development of Sports Hall 3, public feedback highlighted the need for facilities to accommodate spin biking, volleyball, and yoga—popular activities that previously lacked adequate spaces. Through collaborative efforts, we successfully developed this facility. Currently, the center serves up to ten thousand users weekly, significantly contributing to the physical and mental well-being of our community. Those interested can easily book their sessions in advance through the application."
The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center boasts an exceptional location connected to Benjakitti Park, offering a range of facilities to support park visitors in their fitness activities.
