QSNCC, ASEAN’s First Convention Center to Receive ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Certification Strengthening IT Systems and Data Security to Support World-Class Events
Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) has received ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for its Information Security Management System (ISMS). It is the first convention center in ASEAN to receive this certification. The achievement reflects QSNCC’s efforts to strengthen its management systems and IT infrastructure, as well as its approach to data security. It reinforces the center’s readiness to deliver services and support international events, including the 2026 IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings taking place this October.
The certification was assessed by BSI Group (Thailand) Co., Ltd., an organization specializing in the assessment and certification of international standards. ISO/IEC 27001:2022 is an international standard for information security management. It provides a systematic approach to managing and protecting information. The standard covers three key principles: confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and services. It also encompasses risk management, control measures, and continuous improvement.
At QSNCC, the certification covers key IT systems and services. These include the Data Center and core IT systems, identity and access management, and wired and wireless internet network services for customers. These areas are managed with a focus on information security, including the confidentiality and integrity of information and the availability of systems and services.
Surapol Utintu, CEO, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, said, “As ASEAN’s first convention center to receive ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, this is another important confirmation of the readiness of our back-end systems, which have been developed in line with international standards. Technology and digital systems have become an increasingly important part of event operations. This is particularly true for international conferences that rely on IT systems and network connectivity throughout the event. Information security is therefore not simply about preventing data breaches. It also means maintaining data integrity and ensuring that systems and services remain continuously available.”

Receiving ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is part of building a strong IT foundation, ensuring that QSNCC’s systems and services are secure and ready to serve. This enables us to support event organizers across a wide range of event formats, particularly international events and large organizations that require both efficient systems and rigorous data protection,” Surapol added.
The certification is particularly important in supporting major international events such as the 2026 IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings, which QSNCC will host from 12–18 October 2026. Events of this global scale require reliable IT systems and network connectivity. These systems support QSNCC’s operations and provide internet services to participants, helping ensure that the event runs smoothly and successfully.
In addition to ISO/IEC 27001:2022, QSNCC has previously received ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 22000 for food safety management, ISO 20121 for sustainable event management, and ISO 14064-1 Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO) for the measurement, reporting, and verification of an organization’s greenhouse gas emissions. These standards require regular assessment and continuous improvement. This helps maintain the readiness of QSNCC’s IT systems and infrastructure while keeping pace with technological change.
QSNCC will continue to raise its operational standards and develop the organization across management systems, people, technology, data security, service quality, environmental responsibility, and sustainability. This ongoing development is aimed at meeting the needs of the MICE industry and moving toward QSNCC’s vision as an international convention center ready to support world-class events with efficiency.
